Gazing peacefully downwards towards an ovoid plinth of frothing
waves; the bodhisattva attired in elaborately rendered billowing robes,
the small of her back faintly impressed in a square cartouche reading
bo ji yuren (even unto fishermen).

Transitional, early Kangxi period
Of cylindrical shape surmounted by a trumpet form mouth above a
band of raised relief depictions of the Eight Immortals, above a raised
nodule reticulated in Bagua shaped openings above a branch of
flowering prunus, the slightly inset foot surrounding a recessed base.

A BLANC-DE-CHINE PORCELAIN FIGURE OF GUANYIN
19th century
Seated lalitasana on a raised plinth, the elegant figure dressed in
flowing robes and holding a ruyi scepter balanced delicately under
sloping shoulders wrapped in a short cape setting off an almond face
and high chignon.
