Both standing, one with open mouth attired in a thick billowing cloak,
and one in armor holding a shield upright and a hand held at his side
molded to hold a sword or other now lost implement.

A GROUP OF THREE POTTERY FIGURES
Sui/Tang dynasty
Consisting of two painted pottery figures of court ladies, each with hair
in a chignon with hig-waisted dress and shawl, the details heightened
with red pigment, the third a mounted female horse and rider, traces of
straw glaze and pigment.

A MASSIVE LONGQUAN CELADON VESSEL
Early Ming dynasty
Heavily potted in ovoid form incised in patterns of vine and lotus scroll,
the olive colored glaze showing areas of russet colored crazing and
covering most surfaces other than the very thick foot revealing small
areas of cinnamon colored burn (neck reduced, underside drilled).

A similar but intact example was offered as lot 614 in sale 24524 in our
Knightsbridge rooms on 15 May 2018. They noted that similar vases
would have been deemed ‘worthy of temple gifts.

A GLAZED POTTERY MODEL OF A TEMPLE
Ming dynasty
The structure designed with a central open door flanked by three-
paneled frames below a double decked roof with pedant tiles, the
interior fashioned as a plain altar to house objects of devotion, the
model with chestnut and green chestnut and green glaze at the front,
