Yan Yutian (active 1894-1919) is believed to be a Manchu, but little
is known of his life. He painted with a predominantly brown and grey
palette, and most of his subjects are charming landscapes, still-lifes,
and birds. Yan dated most of his bottles either to 1895 or 1907.
