ZHAO ZHIQIAN (1829-1884) “Lanshu” might be Ding Wenwei (1827-1890), a native of Xiaoshan
Magnolia (now Hangzhou), Zhejiang province. His flower painting followed the
Folding fan, mounted as a hanging scroll, ink and light color on gold- style of Xu Wei and Yun Shouping. He was also a talented calligrapher,
flecked paper, inscribed and signed Huishu Zhao Zhiqian, with a specializing in seal and clerical scripts, as well as a bamboo carver
dedication to Lanshu (Ding Wenwei 1827-1897) and one seal of the and poet. Zhao Zhiqian once painted Lanshu zhu ti Dabi shanguan
artist Zhao Zhiqian. tu shi yi guang zhi (藍叔屬題大碧山館圖詩以廣之) for Ding Wenwei.
7 1/2 x 21 1/8in (19.2 x 53.6cm) The inscription indicated the artist first met Ding around 1851-1852.
Their shared interests in painting, calligraphy, and seal carving formed
