TWO LARGE IVORY FIGURES OF SHOULAO
17th/18th century
Each deftly carved following the curve of the tusk, the Immortal with
jovial features under the protruding, lined brow, the larger figure holding
a fan and his typical, gnarled staff, wood stands.
The tallest: 33cm (12 in) high (4).

TWO IVORY STANDING FIGURES
17th/18th century
Comprising: a large figure of Dongfang Shuo holding his stolen peach,
with rosewood cap, his features jovial and well rounded under the
lined brow; and a figure of Guanyin holding a boy, her ethereal scarves
billowing highly, her face and hair lacquered and gilt, her hand and the
boy also with traces of gilt, fixed wood stand.
The Guanyin: 27cm (10 1/2in) high (2).
