JIZHOU RUSSET-SPLASHED BOWL
Song/Jin Dynasty
The first small conical bowl with incised floral
decoration to the interior and exterior, box;
the second bowl with a thick iron-rich black
glaze stopping short of the buff coloured
biscuit at the footrim, the interior with five bold
russet splashes. The largest: 19.5cm (7 3/4in)
diam. (3).

A YUEYAO ‘PHOENIX HEAD’ EWER
Southern Dynasties
The bulbous body flanked with a strap
handles and an upright spout formed as the
head and neck of a phoenix, all covered in
a subdued celadon glaze and incised with
phoenix and peony.
