NORTHERN SONG DYNASTY (960-1127)

The dish is potted with a bevelled foot and
flaring sides and is freely carved to the interior
with a single lotus spray with combed details.
It is covered overall with a warm ivory glaze
with the exception of the unglazed mouth rim
exposing the white biscuit body.

‘DAYLILY’ DISH

NORTHERN SONG DYNASTY (960-1127)

The dish has angled sides rising from a flat base
to a slightly flaring rim. The interior is skillfully
carved and combed to depict a single daylily
sprig, adorned with sketchily carved leaves. It is
covered overall in a pale ivory glaze.
4Ω in. (11.5 cm.) diam., brocade box
