A WHITE-GLAZED MOULDED VASE 清道光
SEAL MARK AND PERIOD OF DAOGUANG 白釉印番蓮夔龍紋福壽綿綿雙龍耳瓶
the body densely decorated with four large lotus blooms, 《大清道光年製》款
wreathed by leafy scrolls, interspersed with stylised kui
dragons and bats suspending endless knots and bats, the
waisted neck similarly moulded with decoration, flanked by a
pair of stylised kui dragon handles, the base incised with a six-
character seal mark

The pure whiteness of the glaze and crisp moulded decoration
on the vase closely relate to that on a Daoguang reign-marked
white-glazed moulded marriage bowl included in the exhibition
Imperial Porcelain of Late Qing from the Kwan Collection, The
Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong, 1983, cat. no.
82, originally sold in these rooms, 26th November 1980, lot
339, again at Christie’s Singapore, 30th March 1997, lot 307,
and more recently in these rooms, 4th April 2012, lot 3114.
