Signed Ryozan, Meiji Period
Finely enamelled with two cartouches, the first enclosing a pheasant
perched on a prunus tree above its mate, the second with further
short-tailed birds swooping about a tree, reserved on a dense
floral diaper pattern ground, the foot, shoulder and mouth rim with
moulded bamboo-form ribs.

With rounded sides rising to an everted rim, painted to the exterior
with blossoming prunus and bamboo issuing from rockwork, the
interior with a central roundel of two confronting phoenix, within a
chrysanthemum flowerhead and foliate border.
