           19th century
           The pentafoil vessel raised on a short flaring
           foot, the exterior incised with a pine tree,
           a three-line archaistic seal script passage,
           a scholar in a mountainous landscape and
           a further three line poetic inscription, the
           interior with a finely crackled pale glaze.

           period
           The vessel formed as a bowl flanked with
           jade-mounted handle and spout, the flat lid
           with a jade finial, the exterior incised with a
           long-tailed bird upon a blossoming branch,
           the reverse with a five-line inscription, signed.
           14.5cm (5 3/4in) wide (2).
