           A FAMILLE ROSE ‘LAOZI’ SCRAFFIATO-GROUND DISH
           19th century
           The ogee form dish finely enamelled with Laozi holding a staff with
           his double-gourd and fly whisk, with an attendant with a giant peach
           and a crane flying overhead, the exterior with the attributes of the
           Eight Immortals; together with a beehive water pot, Daoguang seal
           mark, Republic Period; and an enamelled plaque, Republic Period,
           cyclically dated xinyou year, corresponding to 1921.
           The dish 24cm (9 1/2in) diam. (3).

           Late Qing Dynasty/early Republic period
           Of double lozenge form, one half decorated in underglaze blue with
           bats amongst scrolling lotus, the other half decorated with the Three
           Friends of Winter, all within borders of ruyi heads and lappets. 14cm
           (5.1/2in) high
