A SMALL FAMILLE ROSE ‘FLORAL’
LANTERN VASE
Qianlong seal mark, Republic period
The elongated oviform body finely
enamelled on a white ground with a variety
of blossoming flowers and fruits, including
peony, pomegranate, magnolia, orchid,
chrysanthemum, the straight foot rim and
mouth embellished with key-fret, ruyi-head
and lotus lappet borders. 16cm (6 1/4in) high

Raffaello Landini, Villa Vitiano, San Polo,
Tuscany, Italy, circa 1950s, and thence by
descent
According to the owner, the present lot,
amongst other Chinese works of art, was
sold to Raffaello Landini in the 1950s as
part of Villa Vitiano and its furnishings, which
previously belonged to Mr Moriani, who, in
595 turn, had acquired the Chinese art collection
from Count Gregorio Calvi di Bergolo in
1947 as part of a Rome apartment and its
furnishings.
The present vase is thought to be no. 11 in
the inventory list of objects acquired by Mr.
Moriani from Count Calvi di Bergolo.
