Queen Mother of the West, the second with
a narrative scene from Romance of the Three

flaring foot with flowers, rockwork, finger
citron and peaches. Each: 40.5cm (16in)

Each rectangular screen carved in high
relief with a narrative scene from the Ming
Dynasty novel, surrounded with openwork
foliate panels, further figural scenes and floral
borders, the stands with scrolled spandrels
and Buddhist lion finials. The largest: 85cm
(33 1/2in) high (4).
