                                                             A DOUCAI ‘EIGHT TRIGRAMS’ DISH
           The present vase is thought to be no. 10 in the inventory list of   Chenghua six-character mark, Kangxi
           objects acquired by Mr. Moriani from Count Calvi di Bergolo.  The dish finely painted and enamelled with a central flaming tai ji
                                                             motif surrounded with the ba gua, the interior rim with six unusual
                                                             aquatic creatures amongst lotus flowers, the exterior with a wave
                                                             border. 17.2cm (6 3/4in) diam.
