A HARDSTONE-INSET GILT COPPER-ALLOY REPOUSSÉ
STUPA
Tibet, 18th/19th century
The domed bumpa with fine decoration of hanging, beaded jewellery
and inset turquoise, lapis lazuli and other hard stones, all surrounding
the central niche with inset figure of seated Amitayus, all above the
square stepped throne with further inset jewellery above the single
row of lappets and a bas-relief Tibetan inscription. 18.5cm (7 1/8in)
