EXHIBITED
Boston, International Chinese Snuf Bottle Society Convention,
The Barron Collection, 23-26 September 2008.
Imperial taste in the eighteenth century found novelty to be greatly amusing, which led to the
manipulation of materials for new and creative uses. The current bottle uses the white natural
pattern in the stone to form the fgure and his attributes, making the dificult task of carving
the jade appear natural and efortless, as if the pebble was found that way in a stream.
