A ‘HUANGHUALI’ AND ‘HUAMU’
of rectangular form, enclosing two long drawers STAND
secured with a rectangular metal lockplate QING DYNASTY
with sliding fastener, further metal mounts of
quatrefoil escutcheons for drawer pulls and bail the molded-edge frame inset with a well- gured,
handles set to either side of the box, ruyi-form possibly nanmu, burlwood panel, over a double-
mounts to the top and strap-metal mounts to the cushioned recessed waist, the straight beaded
reinforce the sides apron continuing to the slender square section
Height 4⅝ in., 11.7 cm; Width 12¾ in., 32.4 cm; legs, joined by high scrolling humpback stretchers
Depth 6¾ in., 17.1 cm and terminating in hoof feet

set within a mitered, mortise and tenon frame,
supported on four legs of square section joined
by humpback stretchers and terminating in
splayed feet
