each similarly hollow-molded, the bearded immortal wearing
long owing robes beneath chainmail breast plates, seated on
a cloth-draped throne with a snake-coiled tortoise subdued
below, painted in dark and russet browns on a white slip under
a clear glaze (2)

the ovoid body swelling broadly at the shoulder and set with
two tab handles before the short straight neck and wide
everted mouth rim, applied overall with a lustrous black-glaze
transmuting to russet-colored striations, boldly cut through
with a broad band of two blossoms borne on leafy stems
enclosed within a triple and a single incised line border, the
glaze stopping above the base revealing the bu -colored
stoneware body
