A JIAN ‘HARE’S FUR’ TEA BOWL
SOUTHERN SONG DYNASTY (1127-1279)
The bowl is covered with a lustrous black glaze streaked with russet markings ending in a thick line
above the foot exposing the brown body. The base is incised with a two-character inscription, gongyu,
‘imperial tribute’, possibly later added.

The result of Oxford thermoluminescence test no. P105s63 (13 July 2005), is consistent with the (base 底部)
dating of this lot.
