A YULINTING GILT-DECORATED BLACK-GLAZED BOWL
SONG DYNASTY (960-1279)
The bowl is potted with deep rounded sides supported on a short straight foot, covered overall with a
black-glaze thinning to russet at the rim and ending above the exposed buff body. The interior is further
decorated in gilt with cartouches containing characters, forming the phrase shoushan fuhai, against a
ground of parallel vertical lines above a florette to the centre.
