The real unsung Hero of all my adventures, mishaps, accidents, near death experiences and books is my wife. Not
because she is an unwilling participant, but because she too has paddled, persevered and been a part of this epic journey
to the level of participation she now occupies as the unseen partner on my solo expeditions.
She is monitoring, observing, praying, participating and staying involved often long distance in every event our kayaks
are on the water. I was put in awe of her when she and I paddled to Rainbow Bridge on Lake Powell last summer a
hundred miler tandem paddle we did together in Moon River.
She is a Kayaker all in her own right.

But more than that she picks up the pieces when the puzzle is knocked off the board and the parts are lying all over the
floor and it seems nothing left to do but cry or despair. She has been with me long enough to know we “paddle on”.

We always have, we always will.

From our cheapest kayak to our most expensive she has been the support and strength I need and have needed when like
the tide my emotions are ‘out’ and it’s record lows in my emotional make up. Others never see it but she endures.

Getting that Phone Call from no where out of the blue…….
This is the woman that is a real hero.

Not a Word to nay say because she knows I have played the devils advocate and my own judge, jury and conviction, she
has always been the lighthouse to my shipwreck. Shoulda Woulda Coulda don’t play well to the person under stress and
duress so when the chips are cashed in the pot has gone bust.

                                                      My wife is all Aces
that keeps for me a safe harbor and a warm heart in her arms

not a house or a home but her love.
