The only goal I had was to get everything on the boat and paddle across the river, under the bridge and find a suitable
camp site, pitch a tent and get everything inside before the rain……….
It had been almost 6 months since I paddled last so one issue to confront was stamina. How well could I hold up
paddling when being not in shape and having to confront barge traffic, tides and weather at maybe 60% ready? That was
the main reason for stopping as soon as possible besides the fact the weather was being unseasonably cool and wet.
The Second issue was more to the seat modification I made but had not tested on the water yet. I was sure it would work
but like all mods I really wanted to be able to tweak it a little before depending so heavily on it.
This was “Dump and Run” and I had deadlines to accomplish besides spending most of the day just getting the gear to
the water side. But as I started to load the adrenaline kicked in once again and I was excited to finally be back on the
water and back in the River looking forward to the first campsite.
