2.3.2. DIFFICULTIES MET
Wrong position of the fingers
Success criteria The activation of the pumping mechanism is considered successful when the
participant put his/her fingers in accordance with the instructions or if
he/she places his/her fingers without touching the bottle tip.
Failure criteria When the method of activating the pumping mechanism may contaminate
the bottle.
Description The participant puts the bottle upside down and activates the pumping
mechanism. However, he/she didn’t follow the instructions and puts his/her
fingers on the bottle tip to activate pumping mechanism.
Explanation One participant chose to use the device with a hand position that he
considered as more adapted to him.
Position of the The bottle tip between the index and the middle finger, the thumb presses
fingers on the bottle.

2.3.3. DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSION
The participants expressed a feeling of natural position of the fingers and the facility of pushing on
the device. The question 4 showed:
1. The instructions stated in the leaflet are clear and well‐respected.
2. The position of the fingers and the handling are easy.
3. All participants easily pressed down on the device.
4. Thanks to the tabs, participants handled the bottle without touching the bottle tip.
In conclusion, the shape of the device helps the patients to activate the device correctly without
any major difficulties.
