Step 14:
I always finish up my composites with a few finishing moves that you can do back in Lightroom’s Develop module or here in Photoshop, using the Camera
Raw filter (they work the exact same way, and do the exact same things, so there’s no advantage to doing it here or in Lightroom—just personal
preference). Since this is a Photoshop book, I’ll do them here. This first one I feel is really important for making it look like our subject is really on that
background, and that is to apply an effect of some sort to the whole image. Doing this kind of visually unifies it, and it makes a bigger difference than you
might think. So, go under the Filter menu and choose Camera Raw Filter. Then, near the top right of Camera Raw’s Basic panel, click on the icon with
the four little boxes to the right of the Profile pop-up menu to bring up the Profile Browser (seen here). Scroll down to the Artistic profiles and choose one
to apply to your image. I chose Artistic 04, which adds a nice, contrasty, blueish hue over the whole image and unifies it nicely.
