Gradient Tool & Layer Masks: Blending Two or More Images
Lightroom doesn’t have a feature or function that lets you take one image and have it smoothly blend into another image (or multiple images), and these
looks are very popular with everyone from fine art photographers to commercial photographers. The cool thing is that this is another one of those things
that Photoshop was born for, so the process is incredibly easy and even lots of fun. It uses layer masking, and once you learn how to do it, it’s hard to put
the brush down (so to speak).
Step One:
We’ll start by opening the first image in Photoshop, so select it in Lightroom, and then press Command-E (PC: Ctrl-E) to take it over to Photoshop. This
is the image we’ll build our collage on top of.
