ADJACENT HOTEL DEVELOPMENT
STR intends to prepare a separate planning application for the proposed 60 bedroom
hotel. The new hotel will be located in the top North East corner of the site with
commanding views over the golf course. The hotel will feature stylish modern bedrooms
with warm comfortable atmospheres and modern amenities.
The target market will be a mix of business and leisure, taking full advantage of the
excellent transport links and its close proximity to Newcastle City Centre and the Coast.
The hotel development will be facilitated by the disposal of adjacent land, under STR’s
control, for residential development. For the residential development STR has agreed to
allow a housing developer to submit, after finalising the underletting arrangements for
the Hot Shots centre, a confidential pre-planning application to North Tyneside Council.
STR has also signed a confidential license with the developer to commence onsite
ground investigations.
