A: What is insurance?
B: It is an investment in security against undue financial loss in events of modern life. As
individuals and as members of organizations, everyone runs the risk of financial
hardship and even disaster as the result of malicious or accidental acts of other, random
natural events, and his/her own activities.
A: How many types of insurance?
B: As far as I know, there are seven types. There is malpractice insurance, health insurance,
disability insurance, life insurance, retirement programs, personal liability and personal
property insurance and purchasing insurance.
A: What does health insurance protect?
B: It protects the person against the cost of illness, usually the physician’s costs, hospital
fees, and, sometimes, medications. Some policies cover dental care and corrective eye
lenses. But the premiums are high because so many people have a need for these
services, which means the carrier is going to be paying out a great deal in claims.
