Dr. Jennifer Harman
Dr. Jennifer Harman is a professor and Colorado State University. She has published extensively in the area of intimate relationships, aggression and parental alienation. Dr. Harman is the lead researcher of the Harman Close Relationships Lab. Her lab focuses on interpersonal relationships and health behaviors using social psychological theory.
At the Parental Alienation: Family Violence Lost in the Fog Conference, Dr. Harman will be discussing her research into parental alienation and how parental alienation can be viewed as a form of family violence.
Dr. Mandy Matthewson
Dr. Mandy Matthewson is a senior lecturer at the University of Tasmania and lead researcher in the Family and Interpersonal Relationships Lab. She has published research into parental alienation. Dr. Matthewson is also a clinical psychologist in private practice where she has developed expertise in working with families and individuals who have been affected by parental alienation.
At the Parental Alienation: Family Violence Lost in the Fog Conference, Dr. Matthewson will be discuss what parental alienation is. She will provide an overview of the history of our understanding of parental alienation and a summary of the current research into parental alienation. Dr. Matthewson will also discuss why it is important for practitioners working with families to know about parental alienation.
Also at the conference, Dr. Matthewson in collaboration with Ms Amanda Sillars will discuss coping skills alienated parents need as they grieve for the loss of their children and prepare for reunification with them.
