In June 2018 arrears in payment of wages increased in the sphere of wholesale and retail trade, according to the statistics service, repair of vehicles and motor cycles by 9.1%, to UAH20.149mn, in industry by 7.4%, to UAH2.186bn, in the sphere of administrative and support services by 8.8%, to UAH9.418mn, healthcare and social assistance by 8.8%, to UAH26.044mn, transport, warehouses, postal and courier activities by 5.3%, to UAH170.252mn and provision of other services by 13.7%, to UAH778,000.
The wage arrears fell by 11.9% in arts, sports, entertainment and recreation, to UAH1.211mn, education by 5.1%, to UAH4.335mn, the professional, scientific and technical activity by 0.9%, to UAH112.338mn, accommodations and catering by 12.8%, to UAH2.351mn, IT and telecom by 5.7%, to UAH9.825mn, agriculture, forestry and fish catch by 0.2%, to UAH17.347mn.
Real disposable income of Ukraine's citizens rose 10.0% y/y in the first quarter of 2018 , or the same growth rate as in the previous quarter (9.9% y/y), the State Statistics Service reported on July 3. Average disposable monthly income per individual amounted to UAH3,790, increasing 32% y/y in the first quarter of 2018.
Nominal gross income of individuals rose 24% y/y in the first quarter,
driven mostly by accelerating wages (27.6% y/y) and social income (22.7% y/y). The nominal income of private entrepreneurs and self-employed individuals rose 17.1%, y/y while property income dropped 6.1% y/y. Spending on goods and services increased 23.6% y/y.
4.4.3  Retail sector dynamics
Ukrainian families spent 42% of household expenditures on food and non-alcoholic beverages  in the first quarter of 2018, the State Statistics Service reports. Alcohol and tobacco accounted for 7.6% of spending.
