2.7 Russian business and consumer confidence
Russia’s business confidence fell again in November to -2 from -1.3 a month earlier. Business confidence continues to perform better than in previous years in the comparable winter season, but confidence is fading as new shocks – a clash with the west over military movements on Ukraine’s border and more recently a new coronavirus (COVID-19) variant – hit the economy.
The moment the economy built up in 2021 will carry the economy through to the end of the year and it remains to be seen how sever either of the new shocks will be.
