Metamorphosis
A butterfly tenderly lays her spawn
In the comfort of leaves, ready for dawn.
A caterpillar, feeble and naïve
consumes its feed and prepares to reprieve.
Comfortably bound, donning its crown
The pupa molds itself throughout sundown.
The Monarch bursts into a sunny July.
It will spread its new wings and learn to fly.

To this day, I vividly remember my 3-year-old self. I was crying so hard on the first day of
kindergarten 14 years ago, begging my parents not to leave me alone. But now, I cry for a
whole different reason; leaving this place which I call my second home. I never imagined
myself as a senior in high school. Looking at the seniors as a kid, it always seemed so far
away and out of reach, but here we are, class of 2020, we made it!!! It’s funny to see how
this school and everything in it has impacted me in so many ways. I would like to thank my
teachers, my friends, and most importantly, my family; for supporting and sticking with me
through this chapter of my life. I will forever remember and cherish this school in my heart.
