Reflection: How can God die? How can the Son of God
breathe his last. Another wonder. Another miracle.

Prayer: (Be silent Listen for God.)

      Activity:
If you have a cross, there should be some candles around the
cross. Light one. Reflect. If not, spend some time reflecting on
      where Jesus’ journey has brought

Good Friday Stations of the Cross

      Station Eight

Jesus is laid in the tomb

Reading: Luke 23:50-56 (read the entire passage)
[Joseph of Arimathea] went to Pilate and asked for the body of
            53
Jesus. Then he took it down, wrapped it in a linen cloth, and
laid it in a rock-hewn tomb where no one had ever been laid.
      Reflection:

Jesus was laid in a borrowed tomb. It was sealed with Roman
guards ensuring the disciples didn’t try anything. The Jewish
leaders thought this was the end of the story. To those who loved
Him it must have felt like the end. We know it as the beginning of
a new chapter, and a new journey of faith for all who put their
      faith in Him.

      Prayer:
When all is dark, and Hope is buried, it is hard to trust His words
that promised, before the pain: He died that I might live. Amen

      Activity:
Find a spot where you can sit. Reflect on the story and the hymn
that follows. Worship and give thanks.
