He Has Been Raised!
He Lives, Alleluia!
Scripture: Read Mark 16:1-8
Mark 16:6 But he said to them, "Do not be alarmed; you are looking
for Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He has been raised; he is not
here. Look, there is the place they laid him."
Halleluja! Jesus lives! Thanks be to God!
The gospel story is good news indeed. The basics of the
resurrection story is told by Mark in four simple words: "He has been
raised . . . " Never has a phrase yielded so much emotion! We can
imagine that Mary and the disciples experienced fear, astonishment,
disbelief, confusion, elation, and the list goes on and on.
Today these words are equally as important for us. Although we
know the rest of the story, these are the words that resonate about the
core of what we believe as Christian disciples. Jesus died for our
sins. Jesus was buried. On the third day he arose to new life. Jesus
overcame the power of sin and death forever! "He has been raised . . . "!
Thank God nothing would ever be the same! This is a Glorious Day
to Praise God, Sing Alleluia, Shout to All that Jesus Christ Lives . . . and
so may we, abundantly, eternally in Heaven.
He has been raised! Alleluia!
Prayer: Most Gracious and Loving God, We give you thanks for
sending your Son Jesus to save us from our sins and give us
eternal life. We give you all praise and glory for ever! Amen.
