Silently now I wait for thee, ready, my God, thy will to see.
Open my eyes, illumine me, Spirit divine!”
Prayer: Heavenly Father, as we reflect on New Life, the New
Life that was given to us when Jesus died for our sins. May we be
reminded that each person’s life is important to you. That each
person has a purpose. May we go through our life with the eyes to
see you, the ears to hear you speak to us and the mouth to speak
your word. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

The Resurrection of the Dead
Scripture: 1 Corrinthians 15: 12–22 NRSV
12 Now if Christ is proclaimed as raised from the dead, how can
13
some of you say there is no resurrection of the dead? If there is
14
no resurrection of the dead, then Christ has not been raised; and
if Christ has not been raised, then our proclamation has been in
15
vain and your faith has been in vain. We are even found to be
misrepresenting God, because we testified of God that he raised
Christ—whom he did not raise if it is true that the dead are not
16
raised. For if the dead are not raised, then Christ has not been
17
raised. If Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile and you
18
are still in your sins. Then those also who have died in Christ
19
have perished. If for this life only we have hoped in Christ, we
are of all people most to be pitied.
20 But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead, the first
21
fruits of those who have died. For since death came through a
human being, the resurrection of the dead has also come through a
22
human being; for as all die in Adam, so all will be made alive in
Christ.
