As Christians, have you ever considered what our lives would be
like if Jesus had not been raised from the dead?
The Christian Faith would be worthless. So, other than this
pandemic, there would be no Gospel to preach and so no reason
to go to church. And if anyone did preach the resurrection, he
or she would be a false witness.
And "God forbid", but Jesus would be branded a liar, since
He predicted His resurrection the third day after the
Crucifixions. He'd be just like any other sinful man that was
crucified. And what's worse, this would make anything
difficult to believe in the Bible.
If Christ hadn't been resurrected, there would be no
pardon for sin. Without the resurrection, which is proof that
God accepted Jesus' sacrifice, there would be no basis for the
forgiveness of our transgressions. Again I say, "God forbid."
And finally, we would have no hope after death. Instead of
being raised to eternal life in Heaven, we'd be doomed to eternal
punishment and separation from God our Creator.
What if Christ hadn't been resurrected? Well for me, seeing
the horrible alternative leads to greater appreciation of the truth.
During the 2021 Lenten / Easter Season, let us all rejoice in the
awesomeness of our Faith in the Gospel, proclaiming that Jesus
Christ indeed has conquered death and is our Risen Savior. The
Scriptures are valid and God's Word is truth. Our sins are
forgiven, our hope of eternal life with Him is secure because of
His Resurrection and Life!
Amen.
