Contemporary Use of the Femoropopliteal Vein in Vascular Reconstructions

Introduction
Greater saphenous vein and/or prosthetic conduits are the first choice for open vascular bypass;
however, in a certain cohort of patients, they are either not available or not suitable. 1
Femoropopliteal vein (FPV) is an alternative for open vascular bypass but few open procedures are
performed as endovascular treatment is preferred in current practices. 1
In this study, Aru et al. reported on the contemporary use of FPV in a tertiary vascular institution to
explore it as a potential conduit. 1
Methods:
