The two go hand-in-hand and can’t be separated.
You don’t engage a Messenger and ignore his message.
Thus Jesus says to repent and forsake all other beliefs,
and to only believe and live his gospel.
We have to know what his gospel Message is
in order to be able to believe and live it.
As ‘The Gospel Life Coach’ my objective is always
to reveal the power of the gospel in our lives
in my articles, in my books, and on my website.
A clear expression of this is in John 15 where Jesus says, “I am the Vine,
and you are the branches. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch
cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abides in the vine, no more can you,
except you abide in me.”
It is interesting to me that, in Colossians, Paul says the gospel is what
produces good fruit, or good things from us.
When we fellowship in the gospel, Paul says in Philippians that this is
the way that God continues to work his ways into us, and it is his good
work in us that he will perform in us.
Will Judgment Be About Sin, or About Our Beliefs?
If you ask most religious-minded people about judgment, the common
thought is that judgment will be about sin. But is this true?
We are told several times that God forgives ALL our sin if we become
believers. We’re told in Hebrews that Jesus came ‘to do away with sin
by the sacrifice of himself.’ In 2 Corinthians we’re told Jesus became sin
for us, and in so doing gave us his gift of righteousness.
