There Is No ‘Secular vs. Spiritual’ Side to Life
This is the way psychology often presents this. I think it began with
Freud with his (A) id, (B) ego, and (C) super-ego theory. At least Freud
recognized an empowering aspect of our humanity, and he called it the
‘super-ego,’ or the spirit. Other philosophies only recognized two
aspects of humanity: the ‘id’ or body, and the ‘ego’ or soul.
In the ‘super-ego’ we’re more able to live God’s way not just our way.
The secular world does have some good creeds to it. But they all evolve
around ‘human doing.’ They are noble, and they present a better way
to live than we might otherwise know and adopt.
Following is what is called ‘the secular creed.’
