P. 68
A lot of this has been about SPIRIT already. This last part talks about the
Spirit, both from a secular, non-religious perspective, and from a Gospel
perspective. Neither the secular nor the spiritual perspective is wrong.
They just differ in mindset and in belief and in lifestyle.
This Now Ties things together About Goals
This is where everything started off.
After the introduction, there have been four prior parts to this book
that link things together about living a GOAL-focused life: one word for
each of the five letters
Once again, together they tell us to:
Go - offer - appreciation - for life - in the spirit.
We do this by setting goals and establishing purposes in our lives.
(1) G is for GOOD. Life begins in our thoughts. “As we think in our heart
is the way we live life.” Good thoughts produce good ways of living.
(2) O is for OFFER. Good thoughts offer great beliefs, and this is
translated into living life better for us and for the sake of other people.
(3) A is for APPRECIATE. Believers think of ‘the abundant life of Christ.’
But appreciation comes in all shapes, sizes, colors, and styles.
(4) L is for LIFE. Life is a journey, not a destination. And life is a
temporary assignment for all of us. Goals keep us on track, so we don’t
get side-tracked.
(5) S is for SPIRIT. Now we look at the last dimension of having a goal-
focused life: the SPIRIT vs. SELF. We are intended to live life a spiritual
dimension, not just being isolated in a self dimension.
