Introducing VP of Advancement
Padua welcomed a new Vice President of Advancement, Tom Harkness, in January 2018. As a product of Catholic school from kindergarten through
college, Harkness said he feels right back at home in the halls of Padua. He grew up in Lakewood, attended St. Clement School, St. Edward High
School, Xavier University and the University of Dayton School of Law.
“Catholic education was the bedrock on which our family was raised. Being able to return that blessing, leading the remarkable growth and expansion
which is taking place here, and helping our thousands of stakeholders invest in the future of Padua is what excites me about coming to work every day,” said Harkness.
He brings years of advancement and fundraising experience to Padua. In previous roles, he served as the Director of Major Gi s at Weatherhead School of Management, the Vice President of Development and Alumni Relations at St. Edward High School and the Director of Alumni Relations at John Carroll University.
“High school is such a crucial time for young people developmentally. Providing them security, support, encouragement and direction, all within a framework of Franciscan values, is a goal I am privileged to be part of,” said Harkness.
