Working Through the Unit
          Pre-Reading Activity

          students are asked to share with the class in a short speech what they do best, which skills and
          strengths they need for this activity and whether or not they have their parents support for what
          they can do.

          Basic Understanding
          For convenience, the text has been divided into four parts, and the activities are presented accordingly.

          Part I

           1. The story is set in Chinatown in San Francisco.

             steamed pastries and dim sum.
