            Talk as performance has several main features as follows:

                1) There is a focus on both message and audience.

                2) It reflects organization and sequencing.

                3) Form and accuracy is important.

                4) Language is more like written language.

                5) It is often mono-logic.

            Some of the skills involved in using talk as performance are:

                1) Using an appropriate format.

                2) Presenting information in an appropriate sequence.

                3) Maintaining audience engagement.

                4) Using correct pronunciation and grammar.

                5) Creating an effect on the audience.

                6) Using appropriate vocabulary.

                7)  Using appropriate opening and closing.

            10.  The Kinds of Speaking Activities

                To  help  students  develop  communicative  efficiency  in

            speaking,  there  are  some  activities  used  in  the  classroom  to
            promote the development of speaking skills in our learners. The

            discussions below centers on the major types of speaking activities

            that can be implemented as follows:
            a.  Discussion

               Discussion  is  probably  the  most  commonly  used   in  the
            speaking  skills  classroom  activity (Murcia,  2001:  106).  It  is  a
