Incontinence Associated Dermatitis Prevention
Avoid use of diapers on all immobile patients except for those with incontinence who are being
transported
Use only recommended incontinence pads under patients
Avoid layers of linen under patient
Should be checked and changed frequently; at least every two hour
Proper Positioning
Reposition patients in bed every 2 hours
Reposition patient in chair every hour
Repositioning is required even with specialty beds
Use Geomatt when sitting in chair
