Providing Basic Foot Care
A NA or CST may perform basic foot care with delegation from RN.
Care Includes: Reasons for a CFCN consult:
• Washing of feet with soap and water. • Toenails of abnormal length and thickness
Drying feet thoroughly • Diabetes, peripheral vascular disease,
• Application of moisturizer musculoskeletal disorders
• Nail filing
• Poor wound healing, and or bleeding precautions
• Nail Clipping: Limited To obtain a consult, an LIP order is needed in EPIC
