What are some of the signs of a VTE?
Swollen calves
Areas that are red and/ or warm to touch
Pain or tenderness to touch in the calves or legs
Patient may complain of
Tenderness
Swelling
Warmth in leg
If you see the any of the signs or the patient complains of the above symptoms:
Report this to the nurse immediately!
Do not rub or massage the legs of patients who complain of these symptoms or
show signs of a VTE.
