                                                             What are some of the signs of a VTE?
                                                                             Swollen calves
                                                     Areas that are red and/ or warm to touch
                                                     Pain or tenderness to touch in the calves or legs


                                                    Patient may complain of

                                                        Tenderness
                                                        Swelling
                                                        Warmth in leg

                     If you see the any of the signs or the patient complains of the above symptoms:
                                            Report this to the nurse immediately!
                    Do not rub or massage the legs of patients who complain of these symptoms or

                                                      show signs of a VTE.
