Documentation may be by RN or Assistive Personnel
If SCD’s are ordered on the Day of or Day after Hospital and/or ICU Admission:
DOCUMENT SCDS / TEDS ARE ON THE PATIENT
OR THE PATIENT REFUSED TO WEAR THE SCDS
Documentation should always be entered on the day of admission
……… but no later than 2359 the day after admission.
Example:
If patient’s admission order is written on 8-1-19 at 2250,
We have until
8-2-19 at 2359 to document that ordered SCD’s are on the patient, or that
the patient refuses them.
