Patient Lift Equipment/Device Decision Guide
Use a lift for transfers between beds, chair, wheelchair, stretcher, and beside commode as well as picking up fallen patients.
Slide sheets are used for lateral transfers & moving patients up in the bed.
If patient: Equipment/Device Options:
Can stand, pivot & walk without assistance & has no risk of falling. No equipment/device is needed
Weighs less than 250 lbs
Can provide limited to no assistance with lateral transfers and/or moving
up in the bed

Can:
follow simple instructions
sit on edge of bed independently or with minimal assistance
