communities have deeply rooted traditions and cultures around food, lack of
trust for medical professionals and outsiders, or social beliefs around certain
behaviours.
The community that I live in is very quiet, sometimes too quiet, because I live
in the suburbs which is Valhalla. There are three parks - netball field, and two
public parks - in the area and they are quite clean for the most part, at times
the grass can grow a little
too long which makes it
difficult to enjoy yourself
when the grass is
constantly poking your
calf. There is also a taxi
rank which looks horrific
at times, that specific
area is not well kept.
There is also a lake that
runs through Valhalla
which smells really bad
which is indicator take it is very dirty water. But overall it is a clean
environment, The shopping centres are clean and hardly any litter on the
streets. The solution to the problems the community does have is, disease
prevention in the taxi ranks by educating people to visit their local health
centre when they experience symptoms of illness, such as fever, so they can
get early treatment for their health problems and not spread the disease to
others. And to deal with the polluted water, there should be signs next to the
lake instructing citizens not to throw litter in the lake, another solution is the
local environmental health agency or solid waste department probably has
