Study Section 17: The Three Angels’ Messages
17.1 Connect.
Talk about taking Scripture out of context! Wait until you get into today’s lesson in Revelation
14. The book is talking about future events that will occur during a great tribulation on earth.
However, the SDA church uses this passage to build their doctrine of the Three Angelic
Messages which supposedly is for the SDA church today. Again, this is another misuse of the
Word of God to promulgate deceptive teachings among believers today. Let’s learn what they
teach….
17.2 Objectives:
1. The student should be able to read and understand the messages from the three angels in the
Book of Revelation, chapter 14.
2. The student should be able to understand the meaning of the messages and see how the SDA
church has twisted meaning to apply to the church today.
3. The student should be able to cite what the SDA church teaches about keeping the Old Testament
Law of God in today’s GRACE economy.
17.3 The Three Angel’s Messages
The Three Angels’ Messages
Angel One: Revelation 14: 6And I saw another angel fly in the midst
of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that
dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and
people,
7Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his
judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the
sea, and the fountains of waters. (Investigative Judgment)
Angel Two: 8And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city,
because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication. (Corruption of the
Church)
Angel Three: 9And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast
and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,
10The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup
of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels,
and in the presence of the Lamb:
11And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night,
who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.
12Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of
Jesus. (Sabbath vs. Sunday Keeping)
