"heady" – reckless
Reckless Driving. According to statistics, a teenager is more likely to die in a wrongful death car accident
than to die of homicide, suicide, illness, or any other safety hazard. Five to six thousand teen drivers die
in automobile accidents every year in the United States. Tragically, many of these fatal crashes are due
xvii
to preventable driving errors.

"lovers of pleasure more than lovers of God"
Americans Love Pleasure According to the USA Commerce department, Americans spent over 500 billion
dollars on entertainment. That includes sports, musical concerts, movies, theatre productions,
amusement parks, etc. xviii They gave 265 billion to charity, but Americans give seven times more money
than people in Germany and 14 times more than Italians. France is the lowest giving country in Europe
with giving equaling less than .14 percent of their GDP.

"deceiving and being deceived"
Departing from the truth, nearly six out of ten Christians either strongly agreed or somewhat agreed
with the statement that Satan "is not a living being but is a symbol of evil," the survey found. Forty
percent strongly agreed with the statement while 19 percent of American Christians somewhat agreed.
In contrast, about 35 percent of American Christians believe Satan is real. Twenty-six percent strongly
disagreed with the statement that Satan is merely symbolic and about one-tenth (9 percent) somewhat
disagreed. The remaining eight percent of American Christians responded they were unsure what to
believe about the existence of Satan.
